Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Cashew Sour Cream Or other vegan sour cream

To Make the Cashew Sour Cream

  • 1 1/4 Cup Raw Cashews Unsoaked
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Onion powder
  • 3/4 Tsp Citric acid
  • 1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast

For the remaining ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Vegan Mayonnaise I use Hellman’s brand
  • 1 Tbsp Dill
  • 1 Tbsp Parsley
  • 1 Tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Granulated Sugar
  • Fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Water To thin the dressing

Instructions

  1. If you are making the cashew sour cream: Blend all ingredients for the cashew cream in a high powered blender like the vitamix for 2 minutes.

  2. Combine 1/2 cup of the cashew sour cream with 1/2 cup of the vegan mayo and stir.

  3. Add in the herbs, spices and salt and pepper

  4. Add the vinegar and sugar and stir

  5. Slowly add in 1 tbsp of water to gain the consistency you need.

Honestly, this dressing is too easy not to have on hand in the fridge! It’s far less expensive than purchasing a vegan ranch dressing in store, and you have the flexibility to add or remove any spices and herbs to suit your needs.

As I’ve mentioned we use this dressing for salads and as a dip-but did you know you can turn it into something even better???

I’m talking about kale chips my friend!

We’ve all seen the $9.00 bags of whole foods creamy style kale chips for sale in store, but did you know you can make your own at home using simple ingredients and a dehydrator?

I’m going to show you how in the next post!

  1. I really like ranch dressing and this mix makes it look thick and creamy. I’d love to pair it with some of my favorite veggies.

  2. To be honest, I’m not familiar with the different dressings because it’s not that common here in the Philippines. But this ranch dressing recipe of yours surely looks good and I would love to try it at home!

    1. YUP!!! It’s when you start dipping pizza that it becomes a problem-not that I would know anything about that!!

Thank you for these recipes! Fascinated by the cashew dip – just as much as the ranch dressing. Also, didn’t realize that Hellman’s makes a vegan mayonnaise now. Will give that a try when making the dressing.

    1. It honestly tastes EXACTLY the same-and its great because the cost is so much more reasonable than the “strictly vegan” companies!

    1. It’s similar to a Caesar salad dressing in the creamy and tangy texture-and I actually have a recipe coming for Caesar Salad that uses the cashew sour cream as a base again-so this is really easy because you can now how multiple sauces and dressings from one main one:)

  4. It looks a whole lot easier than the ranch dressing I tried to make previously (that wasn’t even very good). I’ll try it once lettuce is back in season. Can hardly wait! I love trying new recipes!
